keeping watch over their flock by night.
(or at least, feeding them pumpkins.)
and the glory of the Lord shone round about them.
And they were sore afraid.
And the angel said to them,
"Fear not,
for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy
which shall be to all people."
(Good news to all people...
every plane traveler, every plain traveler
across my little Big Valley world,
across the whole wide world.
All means all.)
A Saviour which is Chirst the Lord."
(Oh, the sight of this cross caught my attention:
the cross, ultimate destiny of the Baby.
He came willingly, purposefully,
to be the Saviour of the world.
And He knew...
There could be no Saviour without a cross.)
there was with the angel
a multitude of the heavenly host
(I thought this sky seemed to be filled with shimmering robed angels!)
praising God and saying,
Glory to God,
Glory to God in the Highest!
(By now, I'm no longer humming,
I'm singing loud, my arms are spread wide,
I'm trying to take it all in,
surrounded by glory.
I hope you're singing too!)
goodwill toward men.
(...and women too!)
