Last week, I posted an album on facebook entitled, “What’s winter without a nice little snowstorm?” Well, this is a new week, and this. is. not. that. snowstorm.
Stella isn’t little, and for the most part, she hasn’t been very nice either. Maybe in the first hour or two, moments of delicate beauty emerged...
I have to give a shout out right here to all of the bundled up folks who spent most of the day shoveling or scraping snow one way or another.
I have two guys at my house who seem to really enjoy the process, and I couldn't be more thankful. (Actually, I could be more thankful...and I'm working on that.)
rain is refreshing,
wind braces up,
snow is exhilarating;
there is no such thing as bad weather
only different kinds of good weather.
John Ruskin
I thought I might not be the only one who needed a few reminders-
to keep looking for the beauty this week,
to keep stretching toward gratitude...
you know, baby steps, baby steps...(for all of you What about Bob fans...)
So, here we go...with a few glimpses of this week's "different kind of good weather" and a few quotes and verses to continue the conversation...
at least someone's enjoying my chair today!!
He does great things that we cannot comprehend.
For to the snow He says, “Fall on the earth…”
Job 37:5,6
He scatters frost like ashes.
He hurls down ice crystals like crumbs.
Who can stand before His cold?
Psalm 147:16
Praise the Lord from the heavens…
Praise Him you highest heavens
and you waters above the heavens!
Praise the LORD from the earth…
Fire and hail,
snow and mist,
stormy wind fulfilling His word!
Psalm 148:1,4,8.
It always comes, every time,
in God's time.
And that's another reason for gratitude!
